Getting Ready to Take the California Teen Permit Test

Taking a practice test before you sit for your DMV permit test will highlight areas you should study more thoroughly. You will become familiar with the format of the test and possible topics covered.

Excitement is building as you get ready to take your California driving permit test. You might feel anxiety and wonder what sort of questions are on the test. The CA permit practice test will give you a good idea of the topics and get you used to answering the questions. If you have not already downloaded your free copy of the California driver’s manual, you can click here. Practicing the questions and studying frequently will help you feel more comfortable and confident when you get ready to take the actual California teen permit test. You might consider discussing a plan for learning to drive with your parents ahead of time. This might be a trying time for them as well. There are several good blogs available that have tips for parents who are teaching their teens to drive.

The DMV permit test varies from state to state, but in California, you will need to take a written test instead of one on a computer. The topics fall into three categories: traffic laws, rules of safe driving and road signs. You will need to get 38 out of the 46 correct in order to receive your driver’s permit. If you work on your practice tests and study hard, you will pass the first time you take the test, but if not, you can attempt the test an additional three times in the same day. By taking a practice test and concentrating on areas you are not comfortable with, you will pass the test easily.

The practice quiz you are about to take will provide you with random questions from each of the three topics. You might need to identify a stop sign or a yield sign based on their shape. You might be tested on questions concerning who has the right of way in certain situations. These questions will be randomized, but they cover all three topics.
