CDL endorsements include: “S” school bus endorsement; “P” passenger endorsement; “H” HAZMAT endorsement; “N” tank vehicle endorsement; “X” tanker/HAZMAT combo endorsement; “T” double/triple trailer endorsement.

How many commercial driver’s license endorsements can I have?

There’s no limit to the number of CDL endorsements you can carry. You can earn as many as necessary to drive the types of vehicles you wish.

What CDL class do I need?

Your CDL class depends on what type of vehicle you’ll be driving. Class A CDLs cover any combination of vehicles that together weigh 26,001 pounds or more with the towed vehicle being heavier than 10,000 pounds; a Class B CDL covers a single vehicle weighing 26,001 points or heavier or to tow a vehicle weighing 10,000 pounds or less; a Class C CDL is required for carrying HAZMAT or driving passenger vehicles, as well as any other vehicle not covered by a Class A or B license.
