You must take your HI Driver's license photo at the DMV office. When you take your photo, you should make sure that you wear what you would wear normally. It's extremely important that your face is clearly shown and recognizable. Look straight at the camera and do not smile, as a resting face is easier to identify.
When you apply for your HI Learner's Permit, you will need to bring proof of your identity, your Social Security Number and your lawful presence in the United States. If you are under 18 and your parent or legal guardian unable to bring you, you will need to bring a notarized application signed by your parent or legal guardian.
If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian should accompany you. If they are unable to do so, your parent or legal guardian will need to sign your application in front of a notary public official.
