The Georgia DDS requires teen drivers to pass the following tests:
• The two-part knowledge exam will be questions pertaining to the rules of the road and road signs. All questions are based upon information contained in the Georgia Driver’s Manual. This exam is conducted on a walk-in-basis only at any of the Customer Service Centers. Testing must begin 30 minutes before the office closes. A permit fee of $10 must be paid in cash, check, money order, credit card or debit card before the test begins. You must pay the fee again if you fail the test.
Eye Screening Exam
• You must be able to pass a vision test with at least 20/60 in one eye and a field vision of 140 degrees with or without corrective lenses or glasses. If you fail the field vision screening, you are required to have a DS-274 completed by a licensed optometrist.
