What happens after I pass my MA Driving Exam?
Once you have passed your MA Road Test, your examiner will stamp the back of your Learner's Permit. This stamped Learner's Permit will act as your temporary license, valid for 30 days. Your permanent license will arrive in the mail within a few weeks.

If you are under 18, during the first 6 months after receiving your license, you aren't allowed to have a non-family member under 18 in the car with you unless a driver who is 21 years old or older is also in the vehicle with you. You are also not allowed to drive between 12:30 AM and 5 AM.

No. You do not have to pass the MA road test as long as you possess a valid out-of-state driver's license. You must surrender your previous license and pay the fee of $125 to convert your license.

Yes. MA will recognize valid out-of-state permits, but if you plan to become a resident you will need to convert your current permit to a MA permit for $30.
