Preparing for Your First Maine Teen Permit

New teen drivers need more preparation for the road than experienced motorists. Our website offers many valuable tools to help teens study for the BMV permit test.

Just as with every test, the Maine BMV permit test requires study if you want to pass. The first resource you should consult when you begin your studies is the current edition of the Maine BMV Drivers Manual. This manual contains all of the information that you will be tested on when you take the exam before getting your Maine driving permit.

Another tool that we recommend is to take a ME permit practice test. We offer 5 different practice tests that will help you see as many questions as possible before you arrive to take your official BMV permit test. Taking a practice test will help you prepare for the test by learning the test structure. Repetition of these quizzes will also help ease anxiety before the test. Besides the ME permit practice test, we also offer a road signs and traffic signals practice test. These questions could also appear on your actual exam.

Taking our ME Permit Practice Test

Our practice quiz is based on questions that you will see on the real exam. Our test contains 25 multiple-choice questions. If you are unsure of any of your answers, you may skip a question and return to it before you complete the quiz. Each of the questions will instantly confirm if you have answered correctly after you have submitted an answer. If you have answered incorrectly, you will be given the correct answer and an explanation.

Once you have completed the quiz, you will be given a final score. In order to pass, you must successfully answer 20 out of the 25 questions correctly. The results page will give you a list of every question you have seen with the correct answer as well as whether you answered it correctly. This list can be an important tool to use as you reference the Maine BMV Drivers Manual to further your study.

We recommend that you take these practice quizzes as many times as necessary to feel comfortable and confident. Using our tools, you should arrive on test day, prepared and confident to gain your Maine driving permit.
