MVD Practice Test FAQs:

What’s on the MVD knowledge and road tests?

Your MVD written knowledge exam includes information taken from your state’s driver’s manual. This includes topics like traffic signs and signals, right-of-way rules, sharing the road, speed laws and limits, and more. Your road test will cover the same topics, except you’ll be expected to demonstrate your proficiency in these maneuvers. You’ll also need to show control over your vehicle and execute maneuvers like parallel parking, three-point turns, and others.

How do I earn my driver’s license in my state?

To earn your driver’s license in most states, you must first pass a written knowledge exam and earn an instruction permit. Teen drivers must also usually complete a Driver’s Education course and earn an intermediate driver’s license with restrictions, while adults can typically move on to their full unrestricted driver’s license. This involves passing a practical exam behind the wheel.

What type of practice test should I take to prepare for my MVD exam?

You should take a free practice test that focuses on the type of license exam you’re taking, such as a standard driver’s license practice test, a motorcycle MVD practice exam, or a CDL practice test for commercial drivers.
