North Carolina Drivers License Practice Test Description

For those attempting to earn their North Carolina drivers license, there are a number of tests that you must first pass. Taking our NC DMV practice test will help you get one step closer to that goal.

Preparing for the North Carolina Drivers License Test

Receiving your drivers license is the final hurdle before becoming a licensed driver without restrictions, which is why the tests you have to pass beforehand are so important. Overall, you will be presented with 2 types of exams. The first is a written one, and the second is an practical that is meant to grade your driving skills and see if you are ready to drive by yourself. The written exam actually has two separate portions to it, a driving rules and regulations one and a traffic signs one. The DMV practice test you are about to take is based off the rules and regulations portion of the written exam and is designed to be as similar to this test as possible. You might also find that taking this practice test will help you once you're on the road for the driving exam.

Despite the fact that the NC DMV practice test is supposed to give you a sense of what you will experience when taking the North Carolina drivers license test, the questions won't be the same as they are randomized on the quiz and the final test. That being said, the practice test will aid greatly in preparing you for the written exam by quizzing you on similar subject matter and displaying the questions to you in the same multiple-choice format. By taking the DMV practice test a myriad of times, you will find that the actual test becomes a lot easier to confidently complete.

The practice test will give you 20 separate questions to answer. These questions are based on the types of driving regulations that you will use when driving on the road such as what type of horn your vehicle must be equipped with and at what point roadways become hazardous to drivers. You must answer at least 16 of these 20 questions correctly. The North Carolina Drivers Handbook contains all of the driving information relevant to this practice test. Feel free to take our Road Signs and Signals practice test for further testing preparation.
