To take the North Carolina DMV permit test, you must be at least 15, but less than 18. You must submit a Driving Eligibility Certificate if you are still in high school. The certificate must be signed by your school administrator certifying that you are currently enrolled in high school. If you have graduated, you must show your high school diploma or its equivalent.
