Alabama Teen Permit Practice Test Description

Driving a vehicle on your own for the first time is one of the most exhilarating experiences you will have in life. In Alabama, the goal is to make sure that your driving experience is a safe one.

Exams Designed to Make You a Safer Driver

Operating a motor vehicle is a very exciting thing. However, even though you have seen your parents and other adults operate motor vehicles, at this stage you still lack the necessary skill set to operate a vehicle on your own. For this reason, prior to getting an Alabama driving permit, you must take a driving permit test. This test is designed to determine your level of knowledge when it comes to subjects such as road signs, safety instructions, and responding to emergency vehicles.

While the DPS permit test itself is not exceedingly difficult, if you do not prepare for it, it is likely that you will not pass. The AL permit practice test has been designed to help you successfully take and pass your permit test. The practice test is designed to present you with questions that you will likely see on the actual exam. During the practice test you will be presented with 20 multiple-choice questions. In order to successfully pass the test, you must get 80 percent, or 16, of these questions correct. The questions presented on the practice test, as well as those presented on the actual test, will vary. You will be quizzed on your understanding of the rules for making turns, laws associated with parking, laws associated with cell phone usage and texting while driving, and an assortment of questions pertaining to road signs.

It is recommended that you take the practice test more than once. This way, you will be presented with many different questions, some of which may be on the actual test. In order to improve your chances of getting an Alabama driving permit, you are encouraged to read the Alabama DPS drivers handbook manual. This will give you an overview of everything you will need to know, not only for your permit test, but also to get your driver
