Illinois Driving Permit Practice Test

Are you preparing to take your Illinois driving permit test? If so, you will probably find our IL permit practice test to be a helpful study aid. Take the quiz as many times as you need.

What to Expect From Our Permit Practice Test

In order to receive your Illinois teen permit, you'll need to pass a few tests that focus on different aspects of driving such as road signs, traffic signals, driving regulations and on-the-road driving performance. These tests can be difficult for new drivers, but our IL permit practice test will help you pass the SOS permit test the first time you take it.

The official written test is comprised of one section focused on road signs and signals and another section focused on driving rules. You'll be tested on everything from how to properly react in the event of a traffic collision to when you should or shouldn't make a U-turn. The practice test is in a similar format to the official test, so you'll be familiar with the topics on the SOS permit test. You can find everything you need to be prepared for this quiz in the Illinois SOS Drivers Handbook.

This practice test contains 20 questions. You'll need to answer 16 questions correctly to score the 80 percent passing grade. You'll also need to answer 80 percent of the questions on the SOS permit test correctly, which amounts to 28 out of 35. Make sure to take the test a few times and review your answers each time. Doing this will allow you to see what you did wrong and give you the opportunity to study further before taking the practice test again. It will also help ensure that you have a much better chance of passing the official test the first time. If you would also like to prepare for the road signs portion of your written exam, take advantage of our Road Signs and Signals Practice Test.
