What tests must I pass?

The Delaware DMV requires teen drivers to pass the following tests:

Written Test
• The written exam is designed to test the applicant/s knowledge about the rules of the road, vehicle safety, equipment inspection and road signs. The Delaware Drivers Manual has most of the information you need along with resources obtained from the Delaware Driver Educational Course. There will also be questions about driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you fail the written exam, you must wait ten days before taking it again.

Eye Screening Exam
• You must be able to pass the test with a minimum of 20/40 vision in both eyes. If you need glasses or contact lenses, your license will have the corrective lenses restriction on it. This means that you must wear your glasses or contact lenses when driving.
