The State of Nebraska requires drivers to pass the following tests:
Written Knowledge Test
• The written knowledge test consists of multiple-choice questions, which covers the Nebraska traffic laws and road signs. You must correctly answer 20 out of 25 questions to pass the test.
• You must be able to pass the vision test with an acuity of 20/40 in both eyes or 20/40 in one eye and not worse than 20/60 in the other eye. The peripheral vision standard is 140 degrees or greater. You must have a visual acuity of 20/70 with both eyes with or without using corrective lenses and at least 100 degrees of visual field.
Road Skills Test
• The driving test will be conducted to check how well you control a motor vehicle and to ensure that your vehicle is in proper working order. You must score at least 80 points out of 100 in order to pass. If you fail the test, you will receive an Examiner Refusal Certificate indicating when you can retake the test.
