• You must be able to pass the test with a minimum of 20/40 vision in at least one eye. Your field of vision must be better than 55 degrees in one eye or 110 degrees for both eyes. Applicants who fail the vision exam are required to obtain a vision report from an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
o You must have an instruction permit for at least six months before you can schedule a driving test. Applicants will be graded upon some of the following maneuvers:
o Making a smooth stop
o Backing up in a straight and smooth manner
o Stopping at intersections without going over the marked lines
o Making turns at an intersection and yielding to cross traffic
o Right of way
o Parking on a hill
o Passing other vehicles
o When to use the horn
o How to safely follow another vehicle
If you fail either the written or driving test, you can take them again the next business. After failing either test four times, you will have to wait at least six months before trying again.
