How do I earn my Missouri driver’s license?

To earn your Missouri driver’s license, you must be at least 16 years old and pass both a written knowledge test and a behind-the-wheel driving test. If you’re under 21 years old, you must also complete a driver’s education course and earn an instruction permit. You must hold your permit for at least 6 months and complete at least 40 hours of supervised behind-the-wheel driving practice before taking your road test for your intermediate restricted license. For drivers 21 and older, the permit is optional, but you may NOT practice driving before your road skills exam without one.
