Afterward, you may access the NM permit practice test that covers the material in the handbook you need to know. It's similar to the real exam and prepares you with a randomized set of 20 questions that you can take your time answering. A score of 80 percent is required to pass, and you will be supplied with the correct answers to questions that you missed. Taking these tests repeatedly until you are consistently getting great scores helps you study, learn the material and become the responsible, safe driver you want to be.

New Mexico requires that you pass a vision test, a written exam and a road test in order to get your permit. Instead of worrying about whether you will pass the the written test, you can be proactive by taking free tests to check your knowledge and hone your skills. You can take our practice tests as many times as you want until you feel comfortable answering the questions correctly.

Learning the rules of the road can be tough. Information covered in the NM permit practice test includes interpreting signs, passing and parking, special considerations for those on motorcycles and pedestrians and how to drive in inclement weather and remain safe. One of the hardest things to learn is what distance to maintain between cars on the road and how far away you need to park from fire stations, corners and other areas that have special rules. All of that is covered in the MVD permit test. You can also take this fun and helpful practice test on road signs and signals to start you on your way to passing your written exam.
