Drive Without Restrictions with a Texas Drivers License

With a Texas drivers license, you can enjoy the freedom of coming and going whenever you want.

Texas requires that you do a number of things before taking the Texas drivers license test. Minors who are under the age of 18 must have approval from a parent or guardian. A signature and proof of relationship must be provided by the guardian. Minors receive a temporary permit that keeps them from carrying a large number of passengers or driving after sunset for at least six months. Texas also bans teens from using electronic devices such as a cellphone in their cars. Drivers of all ages need to show proof of insurance, even if they drive a car belonging to another person. If you recently moved to the state, you'll need to show proof of your new address, and you may need to apply for a permit first.

There are a few things you can do to practice for the Texas drivers license test. Study the Texas Department of Public Safety Driver's Handbook. You'll find this handbook on our website along with a TX DPS practice test. This handbook will better prepare you for taking our DPS practice test and provide you with some general knowledge that can make you a better driver. Once you finish studying the manual, try your hand at our TX DPS practice test. The test gives you a better idea of how strong your skills are and if you need to study more. Whether you take our test once or dozens of times, you'll feel better about taking the DPS test for your license.
