Virginia Drivers License Practice Test Description

When attempting to earn your Virginia drivers license, keep in mind that you will need to pass a variety of tests. Take our VA DMV practice test multiple times to increase your chances of doing so.

What the DMV Practice Test Consists Of

To receive a drivers license, you must first take and pass two separate driving tests, both of which are designed to test your knowledge and on-the-road driving skills. The first of these is merely a written exam, though it is divided into two sections, a motor vehicle regulations portion and a road signs portion. While these tests are not extremely difficult to pass, the only way to ensure that you are going to score high enough to pass on your first attempt is by studying and taking this practice test multiple times. The practice test is designed to emulate the Virginia drivers license test by presenting you with similar questions and a relatively comparable testing experience.

The DMV practice test is geared towards the motor vehicle regulations portion of the drivers license exam. However, each of these tests contains random questions, so there's no way to know which ones you will see on test day. The types of questions you will encounter will be similar to such topics as when you are able to make a U-turn, and what you are supposed to do in the event of an accident. You will find that all of the relevant information pertaining to both the practice quiz and Virginia drivers license test can be found within the Virginia Drivers Manual, giving you all the study material that you need to pass the practice test.

Upon starting the VA DMV practice test, you will be be quizzed on 20 multiple-choice questions. If you want to pass, you must answer 16 or more of these questions correctly, which equates to an 80 percent or greater pass rate. This pass percentage is the same as what you will see on the Virginia drivers license test. You can take this practice test as often as you would like, to ensure that you earn your Virginia drivers license straight away. To give yourself some extra traffic signs preparation, feel free to take our road signs and signals practice test as well.
