Montana Motorcycle Permit Practice Test Description
Earning a Montana motorcycle permit is not an easy ride. Studying with our Montana motorcycle permit test can help smooth your way, allowing you to pass the tests on your first try.
Our Practice Test Prepares You for the Challenge
When designing the tests for motorcycle permits and licenses, Montana intentionally made them tough. This isn't to be mean or elitist; it's a strategy meant to save lives. This rigor makes certain that licensed motorcyclists in Montana are truly ready to ride the state's roads safely. It can also make the knowledge test you must pass to secure your motorcycle permit a bit daunting. Practicing with our motorcycle permit practice test can eliminate this intimidation factor and give you the confidence you'll need to pass the real test.
All the facts you need to pass the motorcycle permit test are in the MVD's Montana Motorcycle Supplement. Once you've read it, check to see how much you learned by taking our practice test. Is your score less impressive than you'd hoped? Don't worry. Simply focus your studies on the areas where you answered incorrectly. Then, retake the practice test. Take it as many times as you like until you are routinely scoring well. Doing so allows you to review the material you need to know and grow comfortable with the testing process. When it comes time to take the motorcycle permit test, you'll be less likely to make nervous mistakes because you'll know what to expect. A comprehensive exam, it may include questions about traffic laws, safe riding practices, road signs and signals, techniques for riding on assorted road surfaces, equipment issues, and safe practices for when you're riding in a group of motorcyclists. To earn a passing score of 80 percent, you must answer at least 20 of the 25 test questions correctly.
Once you've passed the knowledge test, you'll be eligible for a motorcycle permit, which is also referred to as a motorcycle learner license. Good for one year, this permit lets you legally ride your motorcycle on Montana's roads as long as you are being supervised by a more experienced motorcyclist who already has a valid motorcycle license. During this year-long period, you are expected to return to the MVD to complete the skills portion of the Montana motorcycle license test. On the skills test, you must demonstrate that you can maneuver you motorcycle and are able to properly apply your knowledge of the rules of the road and basic safety practices to real-world situations. After you pass both the knowledge and skills tests, you will be able to receive your Montana motorcycle license.
