South Dakota Teen Permit Practice Test Description

To obtain your learners permit in South Dakota, teenagers must first pass a variety of tests. The best way to ensure a passing score on these written tests is by taking our practice test in advance.

How Our SD Permit Practice Test Helps You

When teens reach the age of 14 within the state of South Dakota, they are able to apply for their instructional driving permit. This permit allows them to learn how to drive while being accompanied by a licensed adult over the age of 18. But what many teens do not know is that they must first pass both a written exam and a vision test before they will receive their South Dakota driving permit. This written exam is designed to ensure that teens are familiar with driving rules around the state as well as road signs and traffic signals that they may encounter. Our practice test will quiz you on common questions that may appear on the DPS permit test so that you gain the knowledge you need to receive your learners permit today.

There are two main sections that make up the DPS permit test. This includes a driving rules portion and a road signs portion. Our practice test focuses on the questions that are typically included within the driving rules section of the exam. Some questions that you may be quizzed on include when you should turn your headlights on to what you should do when approaching a stopped school bus. Although the questions on this exam are not intended to be too difficult, they can be tricky for teens who have not studied or taken our practice tests in advance.

The South Dakota teen permit test is made up of 25 questions. You must answer at least 80 percent of these questions correctly in order to pass the test. These questions are randomized on each test, making it extremely important to take our practice test multiple times in order to become familiar with all questions and answers. To brush up on your road sign knowledge before the big day, we also offer a road signs practice test. Additional information and things that you need to know for the DPR permit test can be found within the South Dakota driving manual. By being prepared, you're sure to earn your instructional permit.
