An Overview of the TX Permit Practice Test

This practice DPS permit test contains questions to prepare you for getting a Texas driving permit. Questions in the TX permit practice test you are about to take relate to topics such as speed limits, pedestrian safety, understanding road signs and signals, handling hazardous road conditions, braking and stopping, parking and the use of cell phones and alcohol while driving. These topics are covered in the Texas teen driving manual, and the quiz will help you be better prepared for when you arrive at the DPS to take the official test. It is recommended to take this quiz several times so that you can answer a wide variety of questions and be more comfortable with the official Texas teen permit test.

While you are taking this TX permit practice test, feel free to navigate backwards at any time and review the questions you've already answered. You can also take your time and refer to the teen driving manual before answering a question. When you are unsure of the answer to a question, you can make a guess. If you answer incorrectly, you will receive feedback that includes a reference to the Texas teen driving manual so you can review that information. There is no time limit on these practice tests, and you can take them as many times as you need. To pass the practice test, you must correctly answer 16 out of 20 questions. When you go into the Texas DPS for your official test, you will need to correctly answer 21 out of 30 questions.
