Description of Virginia Motorcycle Permit Practice Test
To drive a motorcycle in Virginia, a Virginia motorcycle permit is absolutely essential. Attached to this permit are a few exams, which our motorcycle permit practice test can help you prepare for.
How to Best Prepare for the Motorcycle Permit Test
While a standard license is all that's needed to operate most vehicles, a motorcycle requires its own specialized license. To eventually earn this license type, a Virginia motorcycle permit needs to be obtained. This can be accomplished by anyone of legal driving age within the state of Virginia. After holding this permit for a period of nine months, you can then apply for a full license. In the meantime, you will be required to pass a written exam and on-cycle exam. While the on-cycle exam seeks to grade your on-the-road driving ability, the written exam is designed to determine the amount of motorcycle driving laws and typical road signs you are aware of.
These same driving laws are the basis of the motorcycle permit practice test and are taken from the structure of the motorcycle permit test. You will also notice that the question sets on both tests are delivered to you in a multiple-choice format. Though the questions won't be entirely the same, it's recommended that you take the practice test a few times to give yourself an idea of what to expect on the permit test and to simply increase your overall chances of passing.
The practice quiz has 20 questions for you to answer. By answering at least 16 of these questions correctly, you will pass. This is largely similar to what you will encounter on the motorcycle permit test. The sole exception is that 25 questions are displayed on this test with the same passing rate of 80 percent. The driving laws content you may be tested on includes driving in dangerous weather conditions and actions to take when driving at night. When studying, make sure to look through the Virginia Motorcycle Operator Manual for a glance at the driving laws found on each test. You might also consider taking the Virginia Road Signs and Signals practice test in order to give you some much needed practice for your other exams.
