Vermont Learner’s Permit Practice Test FAQs:

How accurate is this VT permit practice test?

Our practice test was built using the exact same resource that the Vermont DMV uses to create its tests from year to year—the VT driver handbook. We use only the latest version of your driver’s manual and regularly review it for changes to ensure you’re getting the most up-to-date information based on recently passed Vermont traffic laws and regulations.

What’s the best way to pass my Vermont permit exam?

The best way to ensure you pass your VT permit test with flying colors is to attack your studying in two ways: by thoroughly and regularly reviewing the Vermont driver’s handbook, and then quiz yourself on what you’ve learned using our free practice test.

How do I earn my Vermont driver’s license?

To earn your Vermont driver’s license, you must be at least 16 years old. All drivers, regardless of age, must also first earn a learner’s permit, which you can apply for once you’re at least 15 years old. If you’re under 18 years old, you must hold your permit for at least 1 year and total at least 40 hours of supervised driving practice hours. Then you can take your road test and earn your junior license.

If you’re 18 years old or older, once you earn your permit, practice driving, and pass your road test, you’ll earn your full driver’s license.
