Colorado Motorcycle Permit Practice Test Description
If you want to be a legally-registered motorcycle rider in Colorado, you will have to get a Motorcycle Endorsement added to your regular drivers license.
The Best Way to Get a Colorado Motorcycle Endorsement
Colorado is very popular with motorcycle riders because it is one of the few states that does not have a helmet law for riders over 17 years of age. Wearing a helmet is optional as long as the age requirement is met.
When you want to get the motorcycle endorsement added to your Colorado drivers license, you will have to take a written Motorcycle Permit test. A driving test is also required, and Colorado will accept completion of an approved motorcycle rider safety course as proof of having acquired the skills to operate a motorcycle on Colorado roads and streets.
The written test you will be required to take is not exceptionally complex, but our practice tests are designed to make it a foregone conclusion that you will pass the official exam. We have four practice tests, one of which is based on road signs and signals. It is similar to a regular operators test, so you might only need a brief review for this section of the Colorado test. The other three practice tests exist because, in order to limit the number of unqualified and under qualified riders on the roads, the actual test uses random questions to prevent anyone from telling others which questions were on the test, along with the answers to those questions.
You will also have the opportunity to learn the differences between the motorcycle and the standard motor vehicle operators test so that you can focus more of your attention on those areas and less on non-applicable driving regulations concerning regular motor vehicles.
The official motorcycle test will consist of 25 multiple-choice questions and you must answer at least 20 of those questions correctly to receive a passing grade.
There can often be a long waiting period for the driving portion of the test as it is conducted by the Colorado DMV, which is why many motorcycle riders opt for one of the approved third-party rider safety courses.
Taking our motorcycle permit test is very simple, convenient and effective, and we encourage you to start here.
