Connecticut Permit Practice Test FAQs:

What questions are on the Connecticut permit test?

The Connecticut DMV permit knowledge exam tests you on topics based on the CT DMV driver’s handbook. Expect questions on Connecticut traffic laws and speed limits, right-of-way regulations, driving safety measures, emergency procedures, and more.

Does this practice test include the same questions I’ll see on the CT DMV permit test?

Our free Connecticut permit practice test uses the same information that the CT DMV uses to create your permit test. We compile questions and answers right out of your driver’s handbook, just like the DMV does. The CT DMV may switch up its exact questions from year to year, but the information you’re tested on doesn’t change.

How do I earn my Connecticut driver’s license?

To earn your Connecticut driver’s license, you must be at least 16 years old. All drivers, regardless of age, must also first earn a learner’s permit—either a teen or adult permit, each of which carries different holding requirements and additional training requirements (either a Driver’s Ed course or a DASP course). Teens must also complete 40 hours of supervised driving practice. Then you can take your road test and earn your license.
