Are You Ready to Get on the Road?
A Florida teen permit allows an individual under the age of 18 to drive a vehicle in the state of Florida. While most teens look forward to the fun they can have once they get their license, the state takes the licensing process seriously. The only way a teen driver can obtain a full license is after passing the DMV permit test and showing that they're responsible drivers. Before you can even take that permit test, you need to provide proof that you took a class on driving safety and traffic signs.
Getting your Florida driving permit is exciting, but you also need to think about the serious aspects of driving a car. One simple mistake behind the wheel of a car can lead to a major accident, and breaking the rules of the road can result in an expensive fine and/or community service. The DMV permit test used in Florida includes 20 questions in two different categories, for a total of 40 questions. The first 20 questions cover road and traffic signs. You'll often see an image of a sign and four possible answers, and you'll need to decide which answer best describes that sign. Florida teen permit tests may also include fill in the blank answers. The remaining 20 questions cover Florida driving laws, including the steps for obtaining a license and what to do at stop signs and flashing lights. You'll need to answer at least 75 percent of questions correctly on each section to pass.
Before you head to the DMV, take our FL permit practice test. We use the official handbook offered by the DMV to create a test that is as close to the official test as possible. The FL permit practice test will test your knowledge in both state laws and road signs. Getting your Florida teen permit shows others that you have acquired the knowledge and skills needed to drive a car and puts you one step closer towards earning your license.
