Preparing for Your Iowa Motorcycle Permit Test

It is important for perspective motorcycle operators to know that there are special rules to follow before they apply for an Iowa motorcycle permit. Passing the test is just the first step for operating your motorcycle safely and legally. Every law that applies to motorcycle operator's safety and road regulations will be contained in this manual. On test day, you will see test questions which have been taken from the Iowa DOT Motorcycle Manual.

The next step in preparing to obtain your Iowa motorcycle permit is to take our motorcycle permit practice test that is similar to the official test you will take on test day.

Motorcycle Permit Practice Test Description

Our motorcycle permit practice test is based on the test you will see come test day. The test consists of 25 random multiple-choice questions. Each question may be skipped if you are not confident in your answer, and you may return to questions before you finish the test. After answering a question, our test will instantly let you know whether you have chosen the correct answer. If you have submitted an incorrect answer, our test will give you feedback as to the correct answer with an explanation.

Once you have completed the test, you will receive feedback. You will receive a test score, as well as a comprehensive list of all 25 questions and answers that were contained on the test. In an effort to help you fully prepare for your official Iowa motorcycle permit test, we have made the test available to take as many times as needed.

We also offer a street signs and traffic signal practice test and a practice test based on the standard Iowa drivers permit test. Taking these practice tests in conjunction with the motorcycle practice test will not only help you come test day, but prepare you for the road.
