Indiana Motorcycle Permit Practice Test Description

In order to obtain a permit to drive a motorcycle, you must pass a knowledge exam. Our practice tests use the same source for questions as the state does, making it a great study tool.

With Our IN Motorcycle Permit Practice Test, You Can Learn Everything You Need to Know

In Indiana, you will need to take a knowledge test before you can get a motorcycle permit. This includes teenagers who are looking to get their first permit. The reason for this is that the driver safety rules for motorcyclist drivers are different than those for car drivers. In fact, Indiana has a separate driver's manual for people looking to receive a permit for a motorcycle. All of the information you are required to know for your motorcycle permit test is inside this manual. Getting a copy is the best way to begin the study process, and we have made that easy for you. Just download a copy here. Or you can stop by your local BMV center.

Your knowledge test covers a variety of topics, and we have created our pool of questions from the motorcycle handbook so that our tests mimic the actual exam. Each time you begin an exam, 25 multiple-choice questions are randomly generated from this pool. You might see a question concerning how to make the appropriate hand gesture to signify a right or left turn. The next time you take our practice exams you find it replaced by the type of animal that is most attracted to the sound of a motorcycle. As you learn more and become more successful on our practice exams, you will find yourself feeling more confident about taking the state's test.

While you do not need to schedule an appointment to take your knowledge exam, you will need to arrive at the testing center at least one hour before it closes. This gives you the time needed to process your paperwork and take the exam without rushing. You will need to get a minimum of 80 percent of the questions correct to pass and receive your Indiana motorcycle permit. If you have your copy of driver's manual, now's a good time to read through it and take a practice test.
