MA Permit Practice Test Description

To eventually obtain your driver's license, you must first earn your Massachusetts driving permit. Our MA permit practice test will help you prepare for the written test. Most teenagers want the increased freedom that comes with driving a car. You can earn this freedom by passing the written exam and the on-the-road driving exam. A vision-screening exam will also be conducted on the day of testing. This exam does not need to be studied for, but it will assess your vision to see if you are eligible to receive a permit. The written exam tests your knowledge on the rules of the road and traffic signs. The rules of the road section is lengthy and can be difficult, but our MA permit practice test is designed to help you prepare for and more easily pass the permit test.

The practice test is very similar to the RMV permit test. This is to help get you comfortable with the format and the topics covered on the official test. The permit practice test contains 20 multiple choice questions based on common rules of the road such as which passengers are required by law to wear a seat belt and what a blacked out stop light is referring to. You will need to answer 16 out of 20 questions correctly to pass with a score of 80 percent. The RMV permit test is similar in nature with 25 total questions. You will only need to answer 18 correctly in order to pass.

The questions are randomized, and you will see different questions each time you take the test. Therefore, it is recommended that you take this practice quiz a number of times to ensure you are extremely familiar with the topics. These topics are discussed at greater length in the Massachusetts Drivers Manual, specifically chapter 4: "Rules of the Road". Make sure to take the Road Signs and Signals practice test as well to be prepared for that portion of the written test. By using these study methods, it won't be long until the Massachusetts teen permit is in your hands.
