Utah Drivers License Practice Test Description

Earning a Utah drivers license requires that you understand the rules of the road and can prove it. Our DLD practice test will help you learn the material so that you can feel confident on exam day.

Our UT DLD Practice Test and How It Helps You Prepare

In order to help you prepare for the Utah drivers license test, we offer a variety of free study resources. The Utah Drivers Handbook is a vital tool that you must use to learn the material covered by the official test. On the test, you may see questions from every section of the handbook, so it's important to study all the traffic laws and state regulations. It's also necessary to familiarize yourself with all the road signs, signals and pavement markings used within the state.

We created the DLD practice test to mimic the real exam and to help you learn as much of the material as possible. Because the actual test is a collection of randomized questions, we offer several practice versions. Taking them a number of times will help ensure you're successful on the day of the exam. Our tests are set up to make it easy and efficient to study. After each question, you'll be shown a reference to the handbook section that contains the right answer. This allows you to simply review as you go.

On the day of the test, there are several different parts that you must pass. The first part covers signs, signals and pavement marking identification. A DLD instructor will ask you to show that you can distinguish the signs by only the shape and color. You need to get 80 percent of these correct to move on. The next part is the written multiple-choice test. There are 25 random questions in this part, and you must get at least 20 correct in order to prove your knowledge of Utah road rules. After the testing is complete, a DLD instructor will accompany you on a ride to evaluate your driving skills. You'll be required to negotiate four-way intersections, parallel park and generally prove that you can maintain control of a motor vehicle. As long as you meet the requirements, you'll drive home with a brand-new license.
