What will the test cover?
When preparing to take the test, you will want to know what you need to study for. The BMV has put together a manual that every prospective driver should study. Test questions will cover two main sections that contain information on the rules of the road, traffic signs and their meanings, motor vehicle laws and highway warnings. The test has 20 multiple choice questions per section. To pass the test, you must answer 15 out of 20 questions correctly in each section. If you fail, you are able to retake the test, but passing on the first try will save you time and the headache of having to study more.
Once I pass the test, will I get my permit?
You won't be able to drive immediately after passing. In order to get your Ohio learner?s permit, you must be at least 15 1/2 years old. With a parent or legal guardian present, pay a visit to an Ohio BMV office. Both you and your legal guardian must show documented proof of your legal names and dates of birth, social security numbers, legal U.S. presence and Ohio residency. The next thing you must do is pass the vision exam and fill out the medical forms. Lastly, a $22 fee is required to obtain your permit. Once you receive your permit, you can begin driver's education. After completing your training in driver's education and 50 hours of supervised driving, you will finally receive an intermediate driver's license. You may think that obtaining your driver's license is a lot of work, but after everything is finished, driving will seem like a breeze!
