PA Permit Practice Test Description

To one day earn a driver's license, you must first obtain a Pennsylvania driving permit. Several tests are required of anyone looking to do so, and our PA permit practice test will help you pass.

What is Required to Pass the PennDOT Permit Test

Every teenager, or anyone that wants to drive, is looking forward to the time when they will be allowed to take their vehicle wherever they wish. This is a freedom that is awarded to those that have become a fully licensed driver, which is something that can only be attained after earning a Pennsylvania teen permit. To do this, every prospective driver will need to pass three different forms of testing, a written exam, vision-screening exam and an on-the-road driving skills exam. The vision exam is the only one that needs no further preparation before test day. The written exam is divided into two separate portions, a rules of the road section and another section that asks users to identify road signs and traffic signals that can be found in Pennsylvania. The PA permit practice test focuses its questions on the rules of the road segment of the PennDOT permit test.

As you are working your way through the PennDOT permit test, you will likely be shocked at how similar the practice test and written exam are. The primary reason for this is because the practice test is designed to give you all of the tools that you will need to pass the official test, which means having remarkably similar question content and the same multiple-choice format. Despite this similarity, the questions on both are random, so you won't be able to use the answers on one as a tool to pass the other. Taking this practice test a variety of times will increase your chances of passing.

The practice test contains a total of 20 questions, of which 16 must be answered correctly if you wish to pass. These questions may include everything from what happens if you are given a citation to what you should do when in a collision. To study further, take an in-depth look at the Pennsylvania Drivers Manual. You should also know that the Road Signs and Signals practice test will give you tips on passing your other exams.
