Illinois Motorcycle Permit Practice Test Description

The first step towards becoming a fully licensed motorcyclist is to obtain an Illinois motorcycle permit. As there are a few exams you must pass, take our motorcycle permit practice test beforehand.

Passing the Motorcycle Permit Test with Relative Ease

Upon turning 16 years of age, you are now able to receive an Illinois motorcycle permit. While this new responsibility comes with a few driving restrictions before earning a full license, the newly found freedom of being able to drive your motorcycle is more than worth it. Before applying for a permit, there are a few things you should understand. For one, there are three exams you need to take, which include a written one, a vision-screening one and an on-cycle one. The written exam contains two sections; one is based on motorcycle driving rules and the other on traffic signs located throughout the state of Illinois.

You will notice that the motorcycle permit practice test is derived from the same driving rules source material as the motorcycle permit test. This is because we have designed the practice test to be as similar to the written exam as we can make it to better simulate the type of testing conditions you will experience. Not only are the questions similar in nature, but it is also a multiple-choice format with a choice from four different answers. Both tests are comprised of questions that are chosen randomly. While it's impossible to know for certain which questions you will find on the motorcycle permit test, taking the practice test a few times will make the permit test much simpler to complete.

The practice test you are set to begin is filled with 12 questions on driving rules and regulations. You will be tasked with answering at least 80 percent of these correctly. If you would like to study for the practice quiz and permit test beforehand, the Illinois Motorcycle Operator Manual consists of everything you need to know. The Road Signs and Signals practice test will also help you identify important traffic signs.
